Have you ever considered volunteering for HICAP?
Would you like to make a difference in the life of someone else? The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) would like to invite you to consider volunteering for our Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP). Volunteering for HICAP provides an opportunity to give back to the community as well as obtaining knowledge in Medicare education, counseling, and elderly assistance.
The HICAP program is always looking for volunteers. Volunteers receive 30 hours of free training followed by 10 additional internship hours before they become registered as HICAP counselors by the California Department of Aging. HICAP volunteers must commit at least 40 hours per year to counseling clients and 12 hours per year to receiving additional training. Bilingual counselors are encouraged to apply. If you are interested, please call. We can use your help!
For more information please call HICAP at (805) 477-7310.
