The VCAAA’s Advisory Council is a community-based body of advocates who share a mission to create and sustain programs that impact the lives of older adults, people with disabilities, and family caregivers. Members represent the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, service providers, focused populations, and local cities.

The Council meets six times a year. Much of the work is done in committees, or through participation in outreach, grantee site visits, task force groups, and issues of County concern.
There are subcommittees for:

- Housing
- Optimal Aging
- Senior Nutrition & Health
- Transportation
- Workforce
