The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving on the Agency’s community-based Advisory Council. There are currently three vacancies, including one for a representative of individuals with disabilities, one representative of the LGBTQ+ community, and one representative for family caregivers. New appointments are now being considered for terms beginning July 1, 2021.
The representative of individuals with disabilities will have a vested interest in advocating for people of all ages living with disabilities, while a member of the LGBTQ+ population will be selected to represent, and advocate for, older adults who are also members of the LGBTQ+ community. The individual selected to represent family caregivers will have personal and/or professional experience as a family caregiver.
Individuals with a strong interest in any of the vacant positions are encouraged to apply. The deadline for submitting applications is April 29, 2021.
